Mintage of 100 pieces. Delicate old patina. One of the rarest and most sought after coins from the period of the Second Republic. Designed by Stanislaw Szukalski.

Stanislaw Szukalski, brilliant sculptor, painter, draughtsman, designer and theoretician. He was born on December 13, 1893 in Warta, and died on May 19, 1987 in Burbank (USA). From his earliest years he manifested great talent in sculpting. In 1907, he and his family moved to Chicago, where he attended classes at the Art Institute of Chicago. At the age of just 15, he became a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. During the interwar period, he was one of the more colorful figures in the artistic life of Warsaw and Krakow. A huge part of Stanislaw Szukalski's artistic output was destroyed or lost during World War II. After the war, he lived in the United States. It was said of Szukalski's sculptures that they came out of the hand of a contemporary of Michelangelo or Rodin.
