Extremely rare coin.

Goldgulden from the reign of Janos Hunyada, a magnate and army commander, who in the years 1446-1453 served as regent of the Kingdom of Hungary.

Early type, dating from 1446-1447.

Nice detail, slight cuts in the relief of the figure, a small delamination of the layer on the upper part of the reverse.

Natural, uncleaned example, preserved with a mint gloss.

Gold, diameter 21.1 x 21.0 mm, weight 3.47 g.

Obverse: IOHANES D H W R UNGARIE GV, four-filed coat of arms

Reverse: S LADISL-AVS REX, facing Wladislav holding battle axe and imperial chalice
