Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: XF
Reference: Garbaczewski (-), Kopicki (-), Stronczyński (-), Kubiak (-)

Undescribed in the literature, unlisted at auctions type of brakteat.

A very interesting and mysterious issue that fits the character of Polish bracteates, as confirmed by experts in minting of that era.

Fitting in style to the group of Ratajski brakteats attributed to the reigns of Henry I the Bearded and Henry II the Pious.

Representation: a figure (standing?) centrally, with two pastorals (reversed), on an arch with a visible trace inscription or ornaments, flanked by two towers.

Faint minting, slight bending, surface with preserved luster.

Rarity, probably a rarity.

Silver, diameter 18.1 mm, weight 0.19 g.
