A beautiful piece, an actual one-sided minting of this half-denarius.
Superb, artistic and very well preserved.
Extraordinary beauty, age patina.
Very rare, one-sided print (brakteat minting) of a denarius with the name of Ladislaus and the head of St. Adalbert.
Kazimierz Stronczynski writes interestingly about them, distinguishing between double-sided and single-sided types:
"with the name of Ladislaus types two, both in variants in the largest part bilaterally beaten. Some specimens of the type with St. Adalbert were brakteat, one or the other side of the denarius depicting and this half only of the total denarii weighed."
A coin prized among collectors, difficult to obtain, with prices reaching up to several thousand zlotys.
For the best collections.
Obverse: kneeling prince with raised sword, to the right, in the rim the name VOLDLIV-.
Silver , diameter 13 mm, weight 0.11 g.
