A very rare, mirror-finish 2-gulden coin.
A mint coin with a visible “proof” effect—a distinct, bright relief against a dark background.
The first WMG 2-gulden coin was struck at the Utrecht Mint on behalf of the Gdańsk Senate. The mint also produced a small number of collector’s proofs, struck with specially prepared mirror-finish dies. Their mintage amounted to only a fraction of the circulation issue—a fact directly reflected in the rarity of these coins today.
