A beautiful piece. Well minted, very nicely preserved. In the patina of the former collection.

A characteristic denarius of the Wrymouth with a cherished motif - a symbolic representation of the prince's struggle with evil.

Obverse depicting a knight piercing the throat of a dragon with a spear in a variety without additional signs.

Reverse in a rarer variety with a row of pearls in the rim, with a cross with arms topped with balls, in the fields stars and balls.

Piece from Herstall's collection, complete with auction card.

Silver, diameter 13 mm, weight 0.53 g.
