Weight 1.60 g. Barbed variety. Mint crack, obverse definitely better minted than reverse. Obverse: Bird facing right, with outstretched tail and three paws, a fragment of the barbarized PRINCES POLONIE otter legend. Reverse: Greek cross, between the arms of the cross circles with a dot in the center. Diameter 21 mm; full sound. The Denarii of the Brave are considered the first Polish coins since the denarius with a shrine was attributed to Mieszko II. Coveted by collectors, this iconic coin should be included in any serious collection of Polish medieval coins.
