A very rare variety of the last vintage thaler of Augustus III from his issue for Poland, the so-called Banco-Taler, minted on the Polish foot.
The issue, which differs from its counterparts minted for Saxony in the absence of the Saxon shield, as well as the king's titulary "by God's grace Augustus III King of Poland" (instead of Frederick Augustus).
A variety characterized by the signature L (of the medallicist Leopold) at the leather shoulder straps.
Nice state of preservation. Underdrawing on the portrait, but very nice surface. Small filing at the top of the reverse. Natural, celadon patina.
Silver, diameter 42.6 mm, weight 28.93 g.
