France, 3rd quarter of 19th century.
Rectangular base of veined black marble, supported by 4 spherical bronze legs. Higher up - a panther climbing on a rock; hidden in the rock is the clock mechanism, with the Parisian system of beating the hours and half-hours. The dial is enameled, with Arabic numerals, in a brass mottled border. On the base at the front a brass plate with the inscription: "PANTHERE" and the name of the sculpture's author. Vases - on square marble bases with bronze legs, spherical, with lids topped with knob handle, covered with relief decoration with garland motif.
Clock after clockmaker's inspection. Key, bell and pendulum included.
A fragment of the base of one of the amphorae is missing.
