The breakfast set, both in terms of the shape of the dish and its decoration, is an example of German Art Nouveau called Jugendstil (youth style or young style), the development of which was influenced, among others, by the works of Belgian architect Henry van der Velde, who was active in Germany. van der Velde's works are characterized by the characteristic wave motif, visible on the presented object.
