porcelain, enamel paint, glossy, matte and relief gilding;
Height 18 cm, base 8 x 8 cm; signed on unglazed underside of base: cobalt banded shield with one horizontal crossbar.
Undetermined maker, Austria-Hungary or Bohemia, imitation of Viennese porcelain, 1st half of 19th century.
Vase - crater with handles - plastic gilded satyr masks and a wide-turned rim. Two-piece; the bowl twisted with a foot with a square high base on a metal stem. On the canopy two reserves with miniatures with scenes a'la Watteau, with pairs of courtiers in a landscape. Around the miniatures, the upturned rim, the lower part of the crater, the foot and the square base (pedestal), colorful, careful ornamental decoration in a strip pattern or along the axis of symmetry, with gilt ornamental, floral, zoomorphic motifs, arabesque and candelabra motifs, on blue, brick-cherry and beige backgrounds. The decoration is of a good level, and refers in a reduced scale - due to the small size of the crater - to the style and decoration of porcelain from the imperial manufactory in Vienna of the late 18th - 1st quarter of the 19th century.
