A plate from one of the most famous British porcelain manufacturers Wedgwood. Produced today, however, the roots of its design date back to the eighteenth century and specifically to the invention of "jasperware" (a type of unglazed stoneware, often just in blue color). "Jasperware" quickly gained recognition of European courts (including Stanislaw August Poniatowski himself) and is produced to this day.
