Germany, Rosenthal AG, Selb, Studio Lines, 1960s, 1950s model by Raymond Peynet.
On an oval, irregular base stand an embracing, huddled boy wearing a hat and a girl combed into a ponytail, wearing outfits painted with green leafy branches. On their joined hands and at their feet and on the bough of the tree - sit birds. French graphic artist and designer Raymond Peynet popularized the characteristic motif of young lovers in drawings for humor magazines in the early 1950s ; his collaboration with Rosenthal from 1955 resulted in designs for figurines in a poetic mood, realized from 1957 and especially in the 1960s (with signatures of Studio Linie, active since 1961).
