Elecru pottery painted, decorated with decal and glazed. On the underside of the vessel an imprint in the mass "METTLACH", "Ges. Gesch", "Reg U. S. Pat. O FF.", "Made in Germany, 3037 II, and the numbers 26 and 12 and the black stamp "1226 Geschutz". Vase height 38 cm, diameter 38 cm, plate diameter 43 cm. Dated ca. 1900 - 1905.
A magnificent and in excellent condition ceramic dish for serving punch. The two-cup vase with handle lid is decorated with an ornament in the Geometric Art Nouveau style and shows colored intaglio Rhineland views of the town of Bacharach and the castle of Ehrensfels in fields separated by it on both sides. The base is a flat plate, decorated with painted geometric ornamentation refined in its simplicity. The écru ceramic is painted, decorated with calico and glazed. On the bottom of the dish an imprint in the mass "METTLACH", "Ges. Gesch", "Reg. U. S. Pat. O FF.", "Made in Germany, 3037 II, and the numbers 26 and 12 and the black stamp "1226 Geschutz".
