Biography
Graduate of sculpture at the Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz and Art History at the University of Lodz. She specializes mainly in abstract stone sculpture and printmaking. The organic works she creates in stone are meant to be an affirmation of the shape and beauty of the natural material. The artist tries to use the natural color, texture and characteristic properties of stone. The very process of working in it is very important to her, she perceives sculpting as contemplation, an exceptional activity, and a search for hidden meanings and forms. Julia Stachowska's sculptures are often minimalist thanks to which they fit perfectly into modern spaces, the artist cooperates with renowned Polish interior designers and her works can be found in many private collections. For several years Julia Stachowska has been actively participating in symposiums and open-air workshops of stone sculpture organized at home and abroad (Orońsko, Kielce, Dubenec, Brno, Vellano).
