A unique set of Giant Chalices, designed by František Chocholatý in 1957 for the Moser glassworks. The glasses are made of blown smoked glass and bear poetic names: Slender Lady, Long Man, Long Face, Moon Face, Fat Man, Fat Berta. The first Giant Goblets were created on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Moser glassworks. František Chocholatý, then director of the Moser store in Prague, founded the Klub obřích číší in 1957 and designed this series inspired by the physiognomy and nature of his friends. In 1957, for the first time, six friends toasted Moonface, Slim Lady, Long Man, Fat Man, Long Face and Fat Berta. Already a year later, this set received the highest award, the Grand Prix at the world exhibition EXPO 1958 in Brussels.more photos
