Dominika Donde creates porcelain installations, spatial forms or unusual intimate sculptures. She translates her fascination with 18th and 19th century techniques into the contemporary language of art. The pursuit of harmonious beauty and striking form is clearly evident in her work. The Lightness sculpture is a maestro in every dimension. The project took a year to come into being, and seemed unrealistic due to enormous technological difficulties. Many masters said outright that it could not be done. Dominika Donde, however, managed to accomplish the "impossible." The combination of the dancer's balletic pose, in which a reference can be found to Mikhail Fokin's masterful choreographic miniature "The Dying Swan," still reproduced unchanged today, with the female nude and the perfection of white porcelain is a display of creative virtuosity, representing the essence of timeless beauty.
"A master for me is the one who does not leave the path of exploration, the one who is led by an inner inexhaustible curiosity and the dynamics of an inner search for ever new forms, ever new expression and aesthetics. Mastery is an ardent feeling of searching."
Dominika Donde
