MAKOWIECKA Michalina, 1° v. Rudzińska, 2° v. Fleiszer, 3° v. Wasiel (6 IX 1895 Warsaw - 7 I 1973 Kartuzy), singer, actress, director. She was the daughter of Feliks Makowiecki (see vol. 1) and Michalina Swiecka, (see vol. 1), wife of clerk Ludwik Fleiszer (married c. 1926), later -> Aleksander Wa-siel. During World War I she gained popularity through charity concerts, where she performed songs with her own lyrics and music, accompanying herself on the piano. J. Czempinski wrote about her: "composer, singer and poet. Combining outstanding talents in all these directions, Makowiecka is a rare and exceptionally interesting phenomenon". In the 1915/16 season she joined the Warsaw T. Nowości, beginning as an actress. During the season of 1915/16 she was affiliated with Warsaw's T. Nowości, first as an actress, then as a translator of librettos. She played, among others, Kasia ("Baron Kimmel"), Leonka ("Beautiful Helena"), Flora ("Orpheus in Hell"), Ida ("Revenge of the Bat"), Florist ("Around Love"). In the same season, she made guest appearances at the Warshaw. T. Letni as Irena's friend ("The Story of One Night"). In 1918 she traveled to Berlin for concerts. In 1921 she performed at the Warsaw t. Czarny Kot, for the 1921/22 season she was engaged at T. Nowy. In 1927, she joined the Warsaw radio station. PR. Working in the music department, she created a new form of broadcasting, the so-called radio-operetta. In ten years she prepared more than a hundred items for the radio. She worked at the radio until 1939. After the war she left for the Coast and settled in Kartuzy. In 1945, for a short period, she ran the Kashubian Land T. here together with A. Wasiel. During the period of her husband's artistic direction at T. Muzyczny in Gdynia, she directed "Bajadera" (1960) on that stage. She was the author of translations (e.g. the libretto of "Bajadera", "Dance of Happiness"), the libretto of the operetta Lucyna Messal in Kozi Dołki, musical works for children staged before World War II, on the stages of Warsaw. ("Sleeping Beauty", "Expedition to the Moon"). She was a co-founder (1918) and activist of ZAiKS, after the war its representative in Kartuzy. In 1968, as a guest of honor, she participated in the 50th anniversary celebrations of ZAiKS held in Warsaw. In the last years of her life she wrote memoirs on the interwar period.
