On the Polish side of the Carpathians it was the area from Wysokie Dział in the Bieszczady Mountains to the Poprad valley in Beskid Sądecki, and the so-called Szlachtowska Ruthenia on the border of Malé Pieniny and Beskid Sądecki, while on the Slovakian side it was the Beskid belt.
