Jan Chryzostom Pasek of Gosławice - marshal of the Rawski Sejmik in 1661, bailiff of the land of Kraków, Polish diarist of the Baroque era. His memoirs, which he probably wrote down towards the end of his life, became a source of writing inspiration in the 19th century and in 20th century literature. Pasek adopted in his account the convention of storytelling narrative with elements of colloquial, figurative language, weaving in humor, jokes, rubbishy vocabulary. He often used so-called macaronisms, a mixture of Polish and Latin words and expressions. It is not without reason that the Memoirs were called "the epic of Polish Sarmatia."
