The author of a notice published in the IKC about the planned publication of the book, wrote that under the pseudonym of Damian Znicza is hidden "an outstanding literary force," and described the work itself as "a dreamlike novel, in which readers will find many reminiscences from the actual manifestations of Krakow's social life and its forensics."
