The work contains 23 woodcuts according to drawings by Juliusz Kossak (1824-1899), including the following subjects: Women's medicines, Drunkenness, Orthodox church on Sunday day, Jews of Podolia, Inn, Festive clothing, Rural cottages in Podolia, Fair. Contains, among others, chapters: Ruins of defensive castles, Podolia landscape, Remains of Jazloviec castle, Orthodox church and its neighborhood.
Wladyslaw Zawadzki (1824-1891) - Polish writer and publicist. Author, among other things, of "Literature of Galicia 1772-1848," one of the most important sources of information on the literature of the period.
