Magazines with erotic content enjoyed considerable popularity in the interwar period. Despite this, these titles also had multitudes of their great opponents. The Cracow section for combating demoralization even went so far as to hand over to Prime Minister Składowski an extensive and properly motivated memorandum demanding the suspension of pornographic magazines that get into the hands of schoolchildren, wreaking "irreparable moral havoc" among them. One of the magazines closed as a result of these actions was "Behind the Screen." (after P. Solga, Youth and Educational Problems in the Second Polish Republic in the pages of the Catholic periodical "The Sunday Bell")
