Description:
Second edition ofone of Stanisław Wyspiański's most outstanding dramas. The main reason for writing "November Night" was Wyspiański's fascination with the subject of the uprising and reading such works as: "History of the November Uprising" by Stanislaw Barzykowski and "The Uprising of the Polish Nation in 1830 and 1831" by Maurycy Mochnacki. The author's visit to Warsaw in 1898 and the impressions made on him by the Lazienki Park may also have influenced the creation of the drama. The work was a long time in the making, from the autumn of 1901 until May 31, 1904, when Wyspianski finished rewriting the drama. The work was published in print in 1904.
Jerzy Kuczynski (1926-2013) - Polish engineer, diplomat, party and state activist, from 1973 to 1980 governor of Szczecin.
