Chelmno nad Nerem extermination center - German Nazi extermination center for Jews established by the Germans in the village of Chelmno nad Nerem. It functioned from autumn 1941 to April 1943 and briefly in 1944. It is the main site of the mass extermination of the Jewish population of the Wartheland and prisoners of the Lodz ghetto.
