Good condition. Owner's signature. Published 1,000 copies, this one #734, signed by the artist. Poems by Polish Jews illustrated with original copperplate engravings by German grafish H. Naumann (b. 1930). In 1950 he was admitted as the youngest student to the German Artists' Association. He began his artistic activity as a sculptor, creating sandstone reliefs on buildings in Dresden. He also illustrates a number of works published by Phillip Reclam Jr. in Leipzig. Beginning in 1950, he began using the point copperplate technique. Naumann is one of the few artists in the world working in this technique. The carefully produced book contains 13 original full-page prints on plates and one on the front cover. All of the engravings were made using the point copperplate technique and printed in brown. H. Witt, born in Breslau in 1935, is a German poet and publisher, researcher of the history of Polish Jews and translator of poetry from Yiddish.
