Piece No. 220 with handwritten signatures of Jankiel Adler and Stefan Themerson. Published in an edition of 400 pieces numbered and signed. Carefully edited book rebound on handmade paper on a handmade press in October 1948 in London, at the Themersons' home (two-color printing, red and black). Published as the first item by Gaberbocchus publishing house, founded in 1948 by Francesca and Stefan Themersons, along with painter Gwen Barnard and translator Barbara Wright. Text (in English) by Stefan Themerson (1910-1988), writer, philosopher, poet, author of avant-garde films, active in exile since 1938. Twelve full-page illustrations prepared especially for this publication by Jankiel Adler (1895-1949), painter and graphic artist of Jewish origin, working in Warsaw, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Paris and London. Good condition. Rare.
