Item: De Schismate Sacramentario, quasi vnum corpus redacta per D. Iohannem VVigandvm Episcopum Pomezaniensem. Additus geminus Index, prior locorum scripturae passim ab Autore hoc opere explanatorum. Alter rerum atq́ verborum obseruatione dignorum. [Here the signet of the printing house: in a rectangle decorated with branches of fruit trees an oval, and in it a figure against a background of buildings. At the feet of the figure a lion. On the ribbon of the oval the inscription: Virtute. Labore Et Constantia]. Lipsiae 1585; Georgivs Defnervs Imprimebat. Impensis Henningi Gross. At the end, the printing space under the engraving depicting St. Christopher is repeated. (22 x 17 cm), f. [15], f. 582, 2 woodcuts (on the first and last pages), board binding, period sc.

He summarizes first the dogma of the sacramentaries, then their arguments (mainly Zwingli's), to which he responds at length. - From k. 423 goes Exegesis colloquiorum aliquot cum sacramentariis habitorum. The activities of Polish dissenters are not touched by this work" (Estreicher). Johann Wigand (1523-1587) - German Lutheran theologian, the last head of the Pomezanian diocese and botanist. He published many theological texts and wrote several works on the nature of Pomezania. Traces of non-moisture, an early note on the front pastedown and a few notes in the text, a few pages loose. Period binding: board, pigskin leather with embossing, 5-panel spine with raised gussets, orange signboard on spine, traces of two staples, leather partially detached from board at edges, page edges stained. Estreicher locates only 1 piece dated 1584. Very rare.
