Karol Wierczak (born March 4, 1887 in Zrębin, died March 24, 1939 in Warsaw) - Polish journalist, politician and social activist, vice-president of the National Party, member of the Sejm of the first, second and third terms in the Second Republic on behalf of the People's National Union and the National Party.
Before World War I, he was a member of the Bartosz Squads. After the outbreak of war, he co-organized the Eastern Legion, whose soldiers refused to swear allegiance to the Austro-Hungarian ruler, as a result of which the unit was disbanded. Wanted by the Austrian field gendarmerie, he traveled with the then president of the National Democratic Party to Zhytomyr in Volhynia, where he began educational activities for the Polish population. He was Secretary General of the Polish Educational Society in Volhynia. In 1916, he became a member of the National League. In addition, he was a member of the War Emergency League, the Executive Committee in Russia and the Polish Council of the Inter-Party Union at the Second Polish Army Corps in Russia. He accompanied General Jozef Haller on the march of his troops from Sorok to Kaniow. He wrote down accounts of his activities at the time in his published war memoirs. [after wikipedia.pl].
