Piecefrom the book collection (ownership entry from 1944) of Ksawery Swierkowski (1897-1979), librarian and library scientist, head of the evacuation of the collection of the Public Library of the City of Warsaw during World War II. In 1945-1951 he worked at the National Library, in 1947-1948 he served as director and deputy director. He also took part in securing abandoned and deported book collections.
