Stanislaw Ostoja-Chrostowski (1897-1947), sculptor, painter and printmaker specializing in woodcuts. Professor and rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
Melchior Wańkowicz (1892-1974), born into a well-known landowning family in Kalużyce near Minsk Litewski. Outstanding journalist, reporter, author of The Battle of Monte Cassino. Since 1939 in exile. He returned to Poland in 1958 and gained extraordinary popularity.
