Thanks to an incredible effort, persistence in overcoming difficulties, they manage to gradually put down roots in the new land, providing the basis for a compact emigrant community.
The author also shows the reasons for this exodus - social and political (including the story of the strike of the children of Września or the fate of Drzymała).
