Walter Scott (born August 15, 1771 in Edinburgh, died September 21, 1832 in Abbotsford) ? Scottish lawyer, novelist and poet. He was interested in the folklore and history of Scotland. He drew on these themes in his work and initiated the interest in folk culture and creativity in England that was characteristic of the Romantic era.
