GOMBROWICZ Witold - Bakakaj. Kraków 1957; Wyd. Literackie. 8, s. 248, [3]. Booklet, wrappers.
Covers slightly dusty, otherwise very good condition. Cover and title page designed by Daniel Mroz. A collection of short stories by a writer who has been in exile since 1939. It contains partially rewritten texts from the 1933 volume "Memoirs of Adolescence." The title of the book presented here comes from the name of the Bacacay street in Buenos Aires, where the author lived. "Bacacay" was published in Poland in the wave of the post-October thaw (at that time "Ferdydurke" and "Trans-Atlantic" also came out); Gombrowicz's next work ("Events on the Banbury Brig") was not officially published in the country until 1982.
