The Museum of Oriental Art, established in Moscow in October 1918 by decree of the Soviet government, is the only museum in the Soviet Union entirely devoted to Oriental art. It is one of the largest centers where artistic relics of Asian and African peoples are collected, preserved, studied and popularized. The overarching goal of the museum's overall activities is to present to the general public a panorama of the classical artistic legacy of the East, the modern art of the Soviet eastern peoples and the modern art of the foreign East. to contribute to understanding and mutual trust between different nations.
