The author (1806-1890) came from Volhynia, studied at the Krzemieniec Lyceum, studied medicine in Vienna, as a result of a personal tragedy he entered a seminary and took up theology, in Paris he became associated with the Resurrectionists, later converted to Orthodoxy. Preserved edition cover with light soiling, otherwise very good condition, copy partially uncut.
