Tadeusz Lopalewski - poet, prose writer, playwright, translator of Russian literature, director of radio plays. He graduated from the Humanities Department of the Free Polish University in Warsaw. In 1917 he made his debut as a poet in the pages of the Polish press in St. Petersburg. In 1921 he published a volume entitled "Dancing Stars." From 1923 he stayed in Vilna, where he took up work in the press, theater and radio. In 1935-1937 he was editor of the quarterly "Literary Wednesdays". Before the war, he was the literary manager of the Vilnius Municipal Theater, as well as the program manager of the Vilnius radio station. In 1945-1949 he worked in radio in Lodz and Warsaw. In 1933 he was awarded the Philomath Prize for his translation of Russian bylines, and in 1963 he received the Second Degree Prize of the Minister of Culture and Art for his novel "Kaduk czyli wielka niemoc".
