Władysław Skoczylas- studied in Vienna and at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Teodor Axentowicz and Leon Wyczółkowski. In Paris he studied sculpture with Antoine Bourdelle and in Leipzig, at the Academy of Graphic Arts (1912-13). Recognized as the creator of modern Polish woodcut; he also masterfully used watercolor. He exhibited together with the Formists. He was a co-founder of the Association of Artists "Rhythm". In 1922-34 he held the chair of artistic graphics at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, and from 1932 was a professor at the academy. In his work, he readily drew on folk folklore, especially often the Podhale region. Oil paintings in the oeuvre of this artist are a great rarity.

Tadeusz Cieślewski son- graphic artist, critic, art theorist and writer. Studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw: graphic design under Wladyslaw Skoczylas, painting under Tadeusz Pruszkowski, book graphics under Ludwik Gardowski. Member of many art groups and associations, including: Association of Graphic Artists "Ryt", Association of Polish Graphic Artists, "Block of Professional Artists" of Plastic Artists, Group of Graphic Artists "Black and White". He was an extremely prolific artist , often exhibited at home and abroad, and won numerous awards. At first he practiced various graphic techniques, later, almost exclusively woodcut (about 200 works). He published his own theory of this art discipline: woodcut in a book, portfolio and on the wall - remarks on the graphic race of woodcut, published in Warsaw, 1936. He mainly created architectural and symbolic compositions. His favorite motif was Warsaw's Old Town. In the last period of his work, he also makes portraits. He is the author of many woodcut series and portfolios, such as: Old Town - a portfolio of Warsaw woodcuts (1923), Fiorenza - 12 woodcuts (1928), Book of the City - a series of linocuts (1932). He also develops illustrations and layouts of books, such as: Pieśń o Rynku i zaułkach Or - Ota (Artur Oppman), Na drogach Polski by Hanna Mortkowiczówna, Szary brat by Pia Górska. An important area of Cieślewski's work is exlibrises. He is also the author of treatises on history, art theory and art criticism. He was also involved in literary works. Association of Polish Graphic Artists "Ryt" (SPAG "Ryt") - an art grouping active in Warsaw from 1925 to 1939. The association was founded by Władysław Skoczylas and Ludwik Gardowski, professors at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The members of the association were mostly students of the two professors.
