On the back cover gilded, partly effaced signature - Bindery of the Riflemen's Association in Wilejka / very good condition, rubbing the edges of the binding and the spine, stamps on the title page of the first volume, with dedication to Prince Sapieha and on the pre-title page of the second volume ( content of the stamp; "Lwowianka" restaurant and cafe in Wilejka pow.), traces of staining on several pages. Other than that, piece in excellent state of preservation, complete. Unique.
Volume one treats soups, pates, meat dishes, sauces, rolls, stuffings. Volume two is devoted to desserts-mousses, creams, jellies, ice cream, sweet sponge cakes, etc. , as well as ways to preserve food.
The first Polish culinary book aimed at the general public, explaining the basics of cooking, giving grammages and preparation time of a dish.

Cook Well Disposed is a kind of manifesto of the opening of culinary to the common man, not just the professional. Szyttler himself expresses this in the preface to his work:
"Many have already written on this subject, lecturing on the preparation of dishes for the table: but few could make use of these recipes, not having found in them an exact expression of the proportions of the entering articles for the dishes, their preparation and proper brewing, so that the expected taste would correspond."

Jan Szyttler (1763-1850) - author of the first systematic cookbooks in the Polish lands, cook at the court of Stanislaw August Poniatowski. His cookbooks had a great influence on the formation of noble and bourgeois culinary tastes.
