Illustrated by Daniel Mróz
Daniel Mróz- Polish graphic artist, stage designer and illustrator, member of the Krakow Group. He studied for two years at the State School of Decorative Arts and Artistic Industry in Cracow. In 1946 he began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. One of his lecturers was Marian Eile, and it was he who later attracted him to work at the weekly Przekrój. He received his diploma (with honors) at the Stage Design Studio in 1952; at the Graphics Department - in 1953. From July 1951-1978, he was a permanent illustrator for the weekly "Przekrój", in which he published his drawings, and created the characteristic graphic design of the magazine, with which he worked until the end of his life - designing its covers. In addition, he was involved in book graphics (covers, illustrations, typographic designs), theatrical stage design, and poster design. He collaborated with the magazine Zebra (initially - Czarno na białym), Ty i Ja and Young Technician. Among other things, he illustrated the Cyberiad and Fairy Tales of Robots by Stanislaw Lem. He also made illustrations to the works of Franz Kafka, Slawomir Mrożek, Julius Verne. He created mainly using pen and ink drawing and collage techniques. He was inspired by the collages of Max Ernst, creating his own unique style, which is characterized by surrealism and grotesqueness.
