Tłomakowski Janusz (16.03.1896, Vilnius - February 1980, Warsaw). From 1921 to 1923 he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Stefan Batory University in Vilnius. In 1924 he left for Paris to study. He studied at the School of Civil Engineers and Urban Studies at the Sorbonne. At the same time, he resumed his artistic activities in the Association of Polish Students in Paris. In 1935 he returned to Vilnius, from 1939 in the National Army, in 1945 he was arrested by the NKVD and exiled to the gulags in Velikovo and Chkalovsk. In 1965 he returned to Poland, and in 1966 took up a job as a PTTK tourist guide in Warsaw and the surrounding area. He had been creating exlibrises since the interwar period. He used linocut, woodcut and, less frequently, line cynocotyping.
