Rubbing and loosening of binding,rubbing of covers, two ex libris, frontispiece and title page glued to pages, poj. pages glued to margins, some soiling and staining on pages in places, page edges stained burgundy. Title page in red and black. Good condition. Includes accounts of his travels in Russia, detailed descriptions of the Caspian Sea basin, Crimea, Persia, Turkey and others. Numerous information on Poland. All richly illustrated with copperplate engravings, map and city views. The main part is followed (with separate pagination) by an appendix describing the sinking of the Dutch ship "Ter Schelling", sailing to India, titled. "Relation du naufrage d'un vaisseau hollandois, nomme "Ter Schelling", vers la Cote de Bengala". Struys Jean (1630 - 1694), Dutch traveler and cartographer. According to A. Kraushar, the author was of Polish descent and his name was Jan Struys. Rare.
