Stefan Starzyński (1893- 1943?) was a participant in independence organizations before WWI. During the war he fought in the ranks of the First Brigade of the Polish Legions. During the Second Polish Republic he was deputy minister of the Treasury, deputy to the Sejm and president of Warsaw. In September 1939 he was arrested by the Germans, imprisoned in Pawiak prison and then in a concentration camp.
