Commentary by Ignacy Franciszek Stawiarski (1776-1835), lawyer and publicist, on the act of the General Confederation of the Kingdom of Poland, proclaiming the restoration of Poland's state sovereignty, concluded on June 28, 1812, during an extraordinary session of the Parliament of the Duchy of Warsaw, in response to the beginning of Napoleon's war with Russia.After the defeat of the 1812 campaign, the Confederation Council evacuated to Krakow, after which, faced with the occupation of Poland by Russian troops, it ended its activities on April 30, 1813.
