Robert Lee Frost ( March 26, 1874 - January 29, 1963) was an American poet . His work was initially published in England before being published in the United States. Known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his knowledge of American colloquial speech. Frost often wrote about the scenery of rural New England life in the early 20th century, using it to explore complex social and philosophical themes. Often honored during his lifetime, Frost is the only poet to receive four Pulitzer Prizes in poetry . He has become one of America's few "public literary figures, almost an artistic institution"
Paul Engle (October 12, 1908 - March 22, 1991) was an American poet , editor , teacher, literary critic, novelist and playwright. Vonnegut described Engle in a 1967 letter as follows: "The former boss, Paul Engle, is still around, he's a hayseed clown, a foxy grandfather, a great promoter who, if you listen carefully, talks like a man with a paper dupe."
