Maximilian Maria Kolbe, actually Rajmund Kolbe (1894-1941) - Polish Conventual Franciscan friar, presbyter, guardian, missionary, martyr, saint of the Catholic Church. In 1927, he founded the Niepokalanów monastery-publishing house near Warsaw, which soon became the largest monastery in the world and a major press center, publishing several highly read monthly magazines and the "Small Journal."
