Juliusz Slowacki's poem - "his most beautiful work, the pearl of our poetry" (from the introduction) - written in the summer of 1838 in Florence, first appeared in print in Paris in 1839.
The jubilee edition on offer was published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Juliusz Słowacki's birth. The text is preceded by an introduction by Bishop Władysław Bandurski (1865-1932).
