(Estr. T. 28). "The engraving shows Lech in a helmet with ostrich feathers, at the bottom a castle with the superscription Conditor and a camp with the inscription Bellator." (Estreicher). A poem composed of 12 songs (books), before each book there is a summary "Argumentum" in which he cites sources: Sarnicki, Kromer, Gwagnin, Orzechowski, Neugebauer, Miechowita, Kojałowicz and others. The poem combines elements of a heroic epic with Poland's national history. Skorski depicts the origins of the Polish state, the legends associated with Lech, Czech and Rus, and the symbolic depiction of the roots of the Polish nation. Lech, as the founder of Poland, is portrayed in this case in a heroic manner, and his deeds are meant to show national identity and pride. Half leather binding, signs of woodworm, spine loss, signs of dampstaining and staining. Good condition.
