On the day of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, the manuscript was in safekeeping at the home of Mrs. Eugenia Paszkowska, who, before she was deported to work in Germany, buried it in the basement of the house at 13 Pierackiego Street, from where, after Warsaw was freed from the Germans [!] it was extracted by Mrs. Aleksandra Studzińska and secured by her, and then transported by Professor Bronislaw Knaster to Cracow and in April 1945 submitted for printing at the Jagiellonian University Printing House. Thanks to this, the manuscript survived and the book could be published."
