230 pages of format about 12.5 x 19 cm, cardboard binding, richly illustrated (with color photos) catalog of gold coins of Nicholas II and from the period of Soviet minting of tsarist gold in 1923-1926. The catalog also presents numerous varieties of coins, including, for example, differences in the design of the eagle's head or crown, with a full description indicating their rarity and approximate value in different state of preservation. Examples of counterfeit coins are also shown (photos). A separate chapter contains a series of XRF X-ray spectrometry analyses based on original coins by date and denomination. In the second edition of the catalog, the rarity levels of individual coins have been revised based on current (2024r) database statistics, the chapter on varieties and variants has been expanded as well as images of the obverse/reverse/side of coins, as well as their varieties, are described and shown in detail. A text was added with data from archival sources on the purchasing power of Nicholas II's gold coins, the cost of basic products in 1913 and wages in that period. The catalog was supplemented with a chapter on the gold coins of the Grand Duchy of Finland, along with their varieties, variants and degree of rarity. Low circulation - 2,000 pieces.
